My name is Kevin Smith and I have been working in the Koi Carp industry for over 20 years ranging from Pond Construction, Pond Filter Installation, Pond Cleaning and sales.
K.J. Smith Pond Cleaning Services began after carrying out pond and Koi work to friends and family spread through word-of-mouth. Our pond maintenance service has now been operating for over 10 years and we pride ourselves in our professionalism, attention to detail and customer care.

We have built ponds of all shapes and sizes from formal to informal, liners, concrete and fibre glass. Once you have an idea just let us know and we can then both work together to get a pond that will be a beautiful feature in your garden.
Pond Cleaning
We have well over 100 ponds on our books that we clean annually and some we clean every 3 months. Every pond is different so the way we clean them can be quite varied. Some need vacuuming and the filters backwashed while others need to be completely drained, jet washed and then cleaned with an aqua vac. All Filter Media is always washed with pond water as not to kill all the aerobic bacteria that the filter needs.
Pond Filtration
Many people have beautiful ponds but are unhappy with the quality of the water, this is nearly always due to the filtration not being adequate. It may have been adequate at one stage but as fish grow or stocking levels increased it starts to struggle and so does your water quality.
